Spunky Funky Crunchy

I’m so happy you’re here! Let’s be honest: Motherhood SUCKS sometimes! It is joyful and fun and rewarding, yes; it is also hard and exhausting and soul sucking at times. In a world of carefully curated social media posts and influencer moms showing us how they’re totally nailing all the things, we all need a friend with whom we can be totally authentic and honest, and who will accept us just as we are. Friend, I am that friend for you.

I started blogging as a way to find humor in the mess that is raising a family full time. I keep it real, I keep it honest, and I never sugarcoat. I’m into yoga (kinda) and wellness (but I love wine and late night snacks) and composting (as in, I throw all our non-plastic trash in a big wooden bin in our backyard) and just basically trying to live in harmony with nature. But I’m also a wife and mother and I have a really hard time juggling all my passions and interests along with those of my family. My point is, no one is great at everything. And no one falls into just one category. Those moms you see absolutely nailing the one thing they’re really, really good at are probably struggling in a lot of other areas in their lives. You are perfect just the way you are. You are the best mother for your kids (no, really!). You have gifts you can and do use to make the world a better place (I promise!).

So, let’s be friends. I accept you in all your imperfect glory. I love that you have dirty dishes in the sink but read your kids 3 bedtime stories because you want that extra time with them. I love that you are the PTA Queen but feel like you don’t give your husband enough of your energy. I love that you are a badass at work but need to take antidepressants to function. I see you winning, and I see you struggling; I’m here to cheer you through both.
